This may look like a plastic box, but this is hands-down the best mason bee house I have ever owned. Why? The long top overhang and the slight downward tilt make it shed rain very well and keeps the tubes drier than other house designs I own. It holds any type of tubes you want and you can arrange them any way you want -- bees love diverse nesting options and this is very attractive for them. The obervation box (the sliding piece on the side) is a big bonus--usually you have to buy a separate "observation house" at significant expense, but this house design comes with it included. Call me a bee geek, but I think it's really fun to check on the bees' progress every few days and be able to view the entire life cycle. You see far more with this than you do just observing the ends of the tubes. I've tried about eight different house designs over the years, and this one is the best by far. It's worth every dime.
